The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili entered into a strategic partnership with the Iranian Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IAEEE) to publish the Scientific Journal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering (JOAPE). The JOAPE aims to publish original and high-quality peer-reviewed papers in English containing significant results in new operation and automation across all fields of Power Engineering.

Advanced Power Electronics in Power Systems

Recent advances in power electronic have developed its applications in power systems, including renewable energy generation, high-voltage dc (HVDC) transmission, flexible ac transmission system, energy storage, and microgrids. New control interactions and resonance problems have been encountered in renewable energy and HVDC systems, which caught many utility companies, power electronics manufacturers, and operators of wind or PV parks by surprise. In this regard, the next issue of “Journal of operation ad automation in power engineering” is devoted to researches in the field of “Advanced Power Electronics in Power Systems” as a special issue. So, researches are invited to submit their recent researches in this field to the journal.


Topics of main interest include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of power system dynamics and stability issues with the active participations of power electronics
  • New control and protection techniques for power systems with a high penetration of power electronic converters
  • Advances in power electronic-based systems such as FACTS, LCC/VSC-HVDC, microgrid, energy storage, and electric vehicle
  • Advanced power electronic interfaces for distributed generation and renewable energy
  • Modern applications of power electronics for improving the dynamic performance of power and energy systems

Authors should choose the topic of "Advanced Power Electronics in Power Systems" for the subject of the submitted manuscript.
